![]() He was able to pursue his interests in videography, start studying German, study Environmental Science. Kathryn took the time to get to know him, discover his interests and formulated a curriculum. We started exploring other options and after a conversation with Kathryn Kelly I knew we had found an ideal fit! The iSchool has been nothing short of life changing for my son! He went in to the program as a child who had never had any significant academic interests. My son is a competitive freeride skier and we found his competition schedule and desired full-time winter training schedule impossible in a traditional school setting. My husband and I are thrilled with the astonishing progress our twins are making, and our twins no longer dread going to school each day! We all love I-School! ![]() My children are encouraged daily to participate in activities that help develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills, while in an environment that is not just a classroom, but an actual community of teachers, parents and other students who work together to support one another. My 6th grade twins are in much higher math, reading and writing levels than their peers who still attend public schools. The education model offered by I-School is designed to build on the strengths of each individual child, while supporting their growth in all areas of their development. I-School has been such a blessing to our family, as our children are thriving academically and socially despite the pandemic! My husband and I would never have had an opportunity like this for our children, if it wasn't for the generous donations that funded the scholarships our children are receiving. I've been telling everyone I know about this program ❤Īs an educator and parent of two children who attend I-School, I can attest to how wonderful this school is. Diane has the ability to modify her teaching methodologies to cater to the way my daughter learns. This was the very first time that a teacher saw the potential in her, and the first time that someone pinpointed her strengths, and hurdles. Diane determined that my daughter CAN grasp concepts quickly, but she struggles with the communicative part. The Fs were gone, and replaced by Bs and As (seriously? I would have been happy just to get a passing grade, but this? I'm over the moon). Then we started seeing the grades change. My daughter actually walked out of a session and told me she had fun (um, excuse me? My kid just said math is fun? Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that would come out of her mouth). It only took a few sessions for me to see some tangible change. Kathy was so nice and welcoming, and my daughter was placed with an awesome tutor named Diane. I found iSchool by chance through a tutor finder, and I cannot tell you how much of a positive change this has been on my daughter. I knew that she needed intervention, stat, because no matter what I did, my husband who is decent at math, or my teen who is also a math whiz did, we couldn't give her what she needed. Her confidence was so shot from years of trying her hardest and thinking she was dumb (didn't help that her best friend was a math genius. She started at an F, and it just got worse from there. When she hit 7th grade, it was a culture shock (from 3-6 grade, she'd been in a Montessori with no actual grading system and no homework). I couldn't grasp the new concepts, so I was of no help, but I tried as best I could. I was constantly told that they were going to hold her back. My daughter is in 7th grade, and has always struggled in math.
